Nicaragua's currency is the cordoba (C$), sometimes called a peso or
real by locals. Cordobas come in coins of C$0.25, C$0.50, C$1 and C$5.
Bills are of C$10, C$20, C$50, C$100 and C$500.
United States dollars are accepted almost everywhere, unless they are
worn or damaged. Cordobas are usually easier to use, particularly at
smaller businesses and anywhere off the beaten track, where people might
not know the exchange rate or have easy access to a bank.

Nicaragua is the most sparsely populated country in Central America.
The country is slightly larger than New York State. To the north is
Honduras and to the south is Costa Rica. Nicaragua is known for its two
big fresh water lakes, Lake Nicaragua (the largest lake in Central
America) and Lake Managua. Two oceans border Nicaragua.
Along the Pacific coast are volcanoes and fertile valleys and along the
Caribbean coast are swamps.
The climate in Nicaragua is tropical in the lowlands and cooler in the
highlands.

Here is a map of Nicaragua, our probable destination. We should be
able to post more specific information later this week. In the meantime,
you can learn more about Nicaragua
here.
Please keep this project in your prayers, specifically the location of
the site, the type of project, and the volunteers that the Holy Spirit
impresses to join us.
If you have any questions, you can contact us at
mimissionadventures@gmail.com.
We look forward to hearing from you!
